“Crooked?” I was more than just crooked when chiropractic health care turned my life around in my late twenties. Suffering from an autoimmune disorder, multiple physical traumas, a heart attack at age 18 and a circulation problem, which stops the blood flow to my left arm when I turn my head to the left, I felt like a wreck. After receiving regular chiropractic care the results were dramatic! It was like having a new lease on life. I was so grateful I found chiropractic first! I’ve always believed that drugs and surgery should be a last resort. The healing potential of the human body inspires me and chiropractic was a perfect match!
My fascination with the human body wand what makes and keeps it healthy started when I was in high school. My studies continued at Humboldt State University where I graduated with a degree in nutrition in 1979. From there I went on to complete two years of pre-med studies with a focus on biology, zoology, and physics. In 1986 I was accepted into Palmer College of Chiropractic-West, located in San Jose, California. My studies included courses in human anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, x-ray, diagnosis, physical therapy, chiropractic adjusting and technique, and patient care in the Palmer Public Clinic. I was licensed in California in 1991 and have been in private practice with my husband, Dr. Richard Westbrook, in Monterey County ever since. Each year I take re-licensing courses to keep current on the latest developments in the field.
Our office is warm and inviting, and located in the heart of downtown Monterey. In addition to outstanding chiropractic care we offer nutrition counseling, foot reflexology, custom foot orthotics and neck pillows, orthopedic supports, vitamin and mineral supplements, essential oils and dry hydrotherapy massage. My adjusting technique is gentle and effective and is well suited to people of all ages. It treats neck, back, jaw, and extremity problems and is backed by years of research documenting its effectiveness. Whatever your personal need, I know you’ll be happy you came in.
The Monterey Peninsula has been home to my wonderful husband and partner, Dr. Richard Westbrook, my two beautiful daughters, Lauren and Angela, and myself since 1991. I’ve always loved the great outdoors and there is no better place to enjoy it than here! I love taking long walks with our two dogs through the forest and along the magnificent stretches of beach. My entire family, including the dogs, gets regular adjustments as a part of a healthy lifestyle. Every day I thank God for the privilege of living, working and giving to this wonderful community.
Think about how much more you could give to this world if you just felt better. It’s never too late for a new beginning. It’s never too late for a new and healthier you. I’d like to help you get there. I believe I can. Give our office a call, or email me with the link below.
